Kizomba Workshop

Originating in Angola, Kizomba is a partnered dance to the rhythm of Kizomba music. The dance is known to be slow and sensual with lots of lower body hip movements and “bunda” action if you will. Because of Portuguese colonization in Angola, and the presence of Cubans during the Civil War, other form of dances such as Tango, Plena from Puerto Rico and Cuban Son and Milonga influenced Kizomba and it has been described as the “African Tango.”
