Joe Gabel began his dancing as a locker/hiphop dancer from San Jose, California and was a member of a local performance group “Reaction”. He later joined with San Jose freestyle pop artist “Brandon” along with his brother Pete as they hit the top 40 of U.S. Billboard Chart with their hit song “Kisses in the Night” and “Destiny”, they toured across the nation with their synchronized choreography and performed with other artist like MC Hammer, Boys to Men,Tupac Shakur, just to name a few.
A couple years ago he explored more on partnered dancing and found Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba, however, Kizomba became more of his passion, he learned from Kizomba artist such as Tony Pirata, Yami and StEffy, Albir and Sarah, Master Petchu, Cymeon and Kwenda. He’s a lineup artist for Rodchata’s Boracay Festival, SF Kizomba/Semba Festival, SF Bachata Festival and guest instructor for other events at GK3, CPAA, Atmosphere, Cocomo, Stanford, SaSon, DC Bachata Festival, etc .
He’s a founder and choreographer of his new dance group “Soul Connection Dance Company” in the Bay Area, and he teaches Kizomba regularly at Cheryl Burke Dance, Studio S and La Barra.
